God’s Grace Abounds!

I am discovering all sorts of treasures as I go along my journey. And one of the greatest tresures that I have been discovering is the grace of God. God’s grace covers far more than our salvation and is far more than something that is an unmerited gift. God’s grace gives us the ability (that is, He puts HIS ability onto our ability) to live a full and rich life with Him.

As I have been going along, experiencing one difficulty and uncomfortable circumstance after another, I am finding that the grace of God has been kicking in and I am able to go through these periods much easier and with more joy and peace. All because of His grace. God’s Word says that “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” (2 Cor.9:8) God makes His grace to abound towards us. That means He gives us MORE than we need and we are able to do whatever we need to because of that grace. We have all sufficiency in all things. And that means EVERYTHING. There is nothing that is not covered by the grace of God.

I am feeling more settled now. Things that bothered me before no longer am because I am being sustained and strengthed by the grace of God. The things that I have been suffering with has made me more aware of the grace of God and I am able to appropriate it much faster and it is having a greater impact on my life. “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” (1 Peter 5:10) These words are so true because I feel more established as the days pass. My walk is no longer unsteady in these unfamiliar places I am travelling. I am feeling strengthened and energized. And my circumstances have not changed. It is ME that is changing and it is a sight to behold and experience.

If you are going through trying and/or difficult circumstances, rejoice. Because the grace of God is sustaining you and giving you strength, whether you are aware of or feel that strength or not. You are precisely where you need to be on your own particular journey and God is right there beside you, loving you and guiding you, whether you “feel” Him or not. His grace is there for you. And it is sufficient for you. It is all that you need and so much more.

My sister, who is a pastor, put it this way today: God’s grace is like the water that you take with a pill. It helps it (your circumstances) go down easier. It makes your walk with God easier because it buoys you up and gives you an ability that you do not possess on your own. It is HIS strength and power holding you up and carrying you where you need to go.

God’s grace is abundant. And it is all based on His great love for me and for you. Receive His grace. It is here for you. Always. Just as His mercy, His grace endures forever.

Grace is a much abused thing by many Christians. We view is so often as a means of excusing our sins when actually, as you’ve so beautifully explained here, it is a means by which we can *please* God. Without His grace, we could never please Him. His grace doesn’t enable us to sin with impunity, it enables us to live victoriously over sin!

Thank you for sharing this. It’s refreshing to see truth depicted so eloquently.

Thank you so much for your comments. The grace of God is truly a beautiful thing and it empowers us to live this life in a victorious manner, just as you have said.
      God bless you.
