Quotable Quotes

One of the reasons why I love Pinterest so much (aside from the fact that it is one of the coolest sites I have ever visited) is the many and varied ways that you can find inspiration.

Ever since I was a child, I have always been inspired and energized by quotations. “Quotable Quotes” from Reader’s Digest was always my favorite reading and I would rush right through all of the articles to get to that page and feast my eyes and my spirit upon the quotations provided within those pages. (I encourage you to check out my Pinterest page so that you can receive some encouragement and get a glimpse at the things that have kept me going and striving, regardless of the obstacles and setbacks I have encountered in my life.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

“I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy; I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.”

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

Now, those are some of my Pinterest pins, so I don’t know the authors of those sayings.

Here are some others that gets my juices flowing:

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
– – Frank Outlaw

“Everything is okay in the end, if it’s not ok, then it’s not the end.”
– Unknown

Never tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
– Edgar A. Guest

You may have heard many times that your attitude determines your attitude. (Some things are cliches because they are true.LOL) But it is an absolute fact that the thoughts in our minds are not only indicators of our destinies, but are guarantors that we are going to get precisely what we believe. “For as he thinkest in his heart, so is he:” (Prov. 23:7a)

Now, I am very well aware that those suffering from depression have a very difficult, if not impossible time, thinking of positive, life-enforcing thoughts and my prayers and thoughts are with them. I understand. But even when I was in the throes of deep depression, the various quotations that I have posted here gave me some strength to fight for yet one more day and hang on for one more hour…to hang on until help arrived and set me free.

I encourage you to surf around to the many inspirational sites found on the Internet and/or to check out your local bookstore or library for books that will uplift your spirit. Just your reaching out, no matter what state you find yourself in, is a win/win situation. You have not given up and there may very well be something within the pages of the site that you go to or the book that you read that will give you the boost that you need to make it one more step…and each step you take in the right direction will eventually lead you to the place where you have always wanted to be.

Be encouraged.
